Last year, the second to last day of school we had prize giving. All the year 6’s were lining up outside getting ready for prize giving. Then one of the teachers told us to go on the stage and sit down on our own chair just like we practised. But this time I was really scared because there were frightening eyes everywhere like their watching my every move. As soon as we sat down, Miss Hansell (the principal) started with a welcoming speech. After that a student named Ofa did a little speech then another student named Faith read the story that she wrote for the writing sample test.
Later that day Mrs Fepuleai called out students one by one to come up and get their awards. While Mrs Fepuleai was calling out the awards, I was looking around the room left and right searching for my parents hoping they didn’t come. Suddenly at the back I could see my parents watching me. On my mind I was screaming my lungs out “Noooooo!” Just at that very moment Mrs Fepuleai called out my name to come get an award and I could see my parents smiling at me. Outside My mum and Dad took some photos of me telling me how proud they are and then we went home.
